🇦🇷 Argentina
No peso figure. Guests price the gift against the "valor del cubierto", the cost of their place at the table, and inflation outdates any amount within a season.
What a guest puts in the envelope depends less on the guest than on the country. This report sets the usual bands of 18 countries side by side, from family to colleague, each in its own currency and each with the sources it rests on, so you can check every figure yourself.
One guest attending the whole day, in the country's own currency. A row without a figure means the sources name none, and the card says so rather than borrowing a neighbour's number.

Every band on this page rests on named sources: surveys with a stated sample, newspapers and broadcasters, etiquette columns, banks and wedding portals. Where a row rests on our own guide, the guide is listed among that country's sources. Nothing here is an average we computed, and no country's figure was scaled from another's.
A band is copied as the source states it. The only derived figure is the couple rule, which the sources themselves state as a factor of the single amount, and where we round, we round outward, so a band can only widen, never become more precise than its source.
No currency is converted. A euro column would put one day's exchange rate on figures nobody priced in euros; what can be compared across countries is the shape of each market: who gives how much more than whom, and how a couple counts.
On the date at the top of this page we read every source again. Where two or more independent sources agreed against one of our earlier bands, the band now follows them; where at least one independent source supports it, it stayed. Each source shows the date printed on it, and we correct a band as soon as newer sources contradict it.
You may quote any figure or finding from this page in an article, a study or a class, as long as you link to this page. Please name the original source of a figure too; it is listed on every card.
