An introduction
A wedding timeline is less a list than an order with dependencies. Some things can be done at any point; others block everything after them — date and venue decide almost every later item, because guest numbers, budget and even the season of the clothing hang off them. Reverse the order and you plan twice.
The second peculiarity is uneven distribution. The first months feel calm and carry the most consequential decisions; the last weeks feel frantic and consist mostly of confirmations. Letting the calm phase pass moves decisions into a period where it is too late for alternatives.
And then there is the day itself, which is almost always costed too tightly. Photographs take longer than planned, distances get underestimated, and a group of eighty people does not sit down in five minutes. This section covers both — the months before and the hours on the day — with an eye on where buffer is genuinely needed.
